Show ran from 3/3/2008 to 3/29/2008In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Feminist Art Movement, sponsored by MAAC and in conjunction with the Feminist Art Project at Rutgers University which is taking place across the U.S. during 2008,  "Are We There Yet?"  has two components:  a national juried show of contemporary feminist art, and a curated selection of iconic feminist art.  The latter includes works by Martha Rosler, Guerrilla Girls Inc., SisterSerpents, and Laura Cottingham's video, "Not For Sale: Feminism and Art in the U.S.A. in the 1970s"  which includes selections from Womanhouse, the No More Miss America protest and other pioneering works of feminist art.The following contemporary artists are included in the juried show: Jenifer Arbaugh-Korotko, Nava Atlas, ATYL, Mary Babcock, Karen Bailey, Shannon Benine, Suzette Bross, Kate Citrin, Judy Cooperman, Seema Dhond, Jennifer Ghormley, Guerrilla Girls On Tour, Amelia Marie Falk, Ellen Greene, Renee Haddad, Allison Havens, Judi Krew, Judy Langston, Margaret LeJeune, Jeanette May, Cheri Reif Naselli, Sarah Nguyen, Louise Pappageorge, Joyce Polance, Rose Camastro Pritchett, Linda Friedman Schmidt, Mare Vaccaro, and Holly Wong.Together, these artworks and agitprop present a broad overview of where we as women artists have come from, where we are now, and will hopefully point the way into a future of creativity and equality, for we have come a long way, baby, but not nearly far enough. - Mary Ellen Croteau, juror/curator.See reviews of the show in Time Out Chicago  and New City Chicago   *For a catalogue/CD of  "Are We There Yet? 40 Years of Feminism," you may email your request to info@arcgallery.org and donate $10 via PayPal on our website, or mail in your request with a $10 check, or stop by with cash in hand.
