There are two main concepts Carolyne focus’ on within her body of work. The first concept is the notion that everything is connected and the second is that the search for the self is the path to spiritual enlightenment.  Through the confluence of these two ideas, other thoughts begin to surface: there is always an underlying structure, life is circular, when one door closes another door opens, and what is around us is also within us.

The abstract language she employs, which is representative of this world, can be seen as unknown, not rooted in everyday realities. Utilizing imagery found in microscopic nature, her work mimics both biomorphic microcosms and universal macrocosms, capturing moments of evolution, spiritual and natural.  This symbolic abstraction allows Carolyne to bring out the world within her as opposed to just replicating the world around us.  However, the world within us is also the world around us.  There is no difference when everything is connected.

Carolyne is a native of Chicago, Illinois.  She holds a BFA degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate at the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy and a MFA from the George Washington University.  Carolyne is a former President of the ARC Gallery and Educational Foundation.  She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally in cities such as Edinburgh, Bremen, Hamburg, Florence, Toronto, New York, Phoenix, Washington, DC, and Chicago.
