RESPIRATION(S) NOW!

RESPIRATION(S) NOW!:  Online Exhibition Fri.  Aug 28, 6pm Juried by Artist, Angela Davis FeganAPPLICATION DEADLINE: August 4, 2020 at 11:59pmApply here: https://arcgallery.wufoo.com/forms/respirations-now/What does a future look like that allows us all to BREATHE freely?! Each citizen of this world has a RIGHT to BREATHE.At the crux of some of the current crises that the world is enduring right now, is breath: African-Americans are being denied the right to breathe; COVID 19 is attacking lungs; and the lungs of the planet are in need of restoration. Life on our planet is inter-connected. Divisions and exclusions will insure the continued separation of humanity. Together we live, or together we perish. Humans are the problem and the solution. Compassionate, righteous indignation, coupled with action for legislative justice is needed to shape a future that includes racial equality, universal healthcare, and planetary stewardship.ARC Gallery is looking for work that addresses the need to elevate humanity. RESPIRATION(S) NOW! will be an online exhibition in which work not only addresses the problems, but envisions solutions and blueprints for action to create a world which honors BREATH as a RIGHT.All mediums and materials are eligible for submission including video and performance. Images must be jpg. Videos of time-based work or performance must be 3 minutes or less and include a password-free link to YouTube or Vimeo. Public art and site-specific installation (oustide of the gallery space) will also be considered, and must be in place by July 24. The images selected by the juror will be compiled into a slideshow video. This video will be shown on ARC Gallery's website and Facebook page. Time-based work will be given a space on Facebook to be viewed. Individual images will be also be highlighted on Instagram and Facebook. This is a donation-based call for entries. A suggested $5-$50 donation will allow ARC Gallery to continue its mission to provide a nurturing atmosphere for the continued development of artistic potential and dialogue. And to raise public awareness on community-based issues by presenting exhibits, workshops, discussion groups and programs by, and for, underserved populations.Apply here: https://arcgallery.wufoo.com/forms/respirations-now/
