The installation Rendition addresses compromised existence through iteration and mass assembly. Rachel Zollinger employs copper as her main medium, citing its inherent radiance and malleable potential -- similar reasons why this material is, and will continue to be, in high demand everywhere. This installation is a reflection of her own role in the ravenous pursuit of this resource. In the simple and redolent geometry of spherical form, the fractured pieces present a disquieting violence. Slight dissimilarities in the individual pieces suggest the effects of a different trauma to its form, a variance in the violence wielded upon it. In its orderly mass, Rendition is a consideration of human impact on a delicate landscape.
