"Life in the big city has been my initial inspiration. (I was born and raised in Chicago.) The unifying theme of my work deals with urban bureaucracy. I keep my paintings small to give viewers the intimate experience of being drawn into the work, and to bring to each piece something with which viewers can identify from their own personal mythology."
