"Things seen are things as seen" is an exhibition of abstract, three-dimensional works works built of plastic, and small paper construction that use the complexity of visual phenomena as a metaphor for thought and feeling. The gestural forms and spatial quirks of these works are used to create tension and suggest vitality. The inspiration for these works comes from all aspects of MacLeish's life: thoughts, feelings, memories, sensations, the visible and invisible alike.
