This work is the result of the artist's mid-winter meditations-images born of this stark, cold, introspective time of year. While nature is deep in snowy slumber, we humans are defying the urge to hibernate with frantic holiday shopping and one festive activity after another. By February, we have run out of holiday distractions and are faced with the bare bones of winter. Will it find us with a sense of quiet contentment or with gray depression? Here, Lencioni attempts to create a space in tune with the natural voices of the season.
