Forrest Solis "Playthings" Paintings

Forrest Solis describes her work: I am a perceptual painter, pushing perception to its' limits by exploring the idea that reality is rich with untapped flexibility. Using mirrors I fragment the picture plane, creating a psychological time and space, formed of fragmented childhood memories and adult desires. These images are grounded in reality and yet not quite real. Through transformations, reversals and inversions my work plays with ideas of representation, breaking down our understanding of the real and the copy.Forrest Solis will be giving a talk at 5pm before the opening on 10/30:"Playthings: Exploration of the Uncanny"
