"Creating Art - Building Connections," video and mixed media installation

An exhibition of children's artwork in varied media inspired by family interviews and personal memories. The young artists are students from many backgrounds who embarked on an exploration of identity, culture and family history. The artwork was created by students in Changing Worlds' Literacy and Cultural Connections program in partnership with six Chicago Public Schools. Changing Worlds is a non-profit educational arts organization whose mission is to build inclusive communities through oral history, writing and art programs that improve student learning, affirm identity and enhance cross-cultural understanding.
